Can’t get over how human this film is. When I read the summary, I was worried the plot would feel a tad forced, but it all felt so natural. The awkwardness, giddiness and how personal reading a handwritten letter/note feels. We see both of them grow as human beings, with every note tucked under rotti or retrieved from an empty lunchbox.
Top all of these nice feelings, with beautiful cinematography.
This glorious zine contains brilliant artists, compiled very neatly into a bundle of whoa. It’s very safe to assume that I can’t wait for the second issue and how artists are going to interpret the next theme.
Reviewing ‘Over the Garden Wall’ is difficult because I believe the element of surprise is the what made this experience special. I started this precious cartoon a long time ago, when my favorite human strongly recommended it as a brilliant cartoon. I watched the first two episodes and absolutely adored it, but for the life of me, I can’t remember why I stopped. I just spend the past couple of hours binge watching the rest of the cartoon, and I have no regrets. The plot is amazing, the script is smart, emotions and funny when it needs to be. The two main characters remain the same, but I’ve noticed the people’s/creatures’/surrownding’s style differ in some episodes, making it come across as a homage to old cartoons?

Alternative Title: Office Purgatory
I hate this game for all the right reasons. It has at least 12 different endings so far and it’s brilliantly terrifying with the atomosphere set by the narrator.
Two brothers go on a silence strike to make their parents buy them a TV. Featuring an appearance of the most adorable child I’ve ever seen. That’s all you need to know.
The beauty of ‘Lamma Shoftak’ is in the tiniest details. The smiles, glances, hand gestures & facial expressions. It’s far away from all the action that some of the fighters are in, and more close to their personalities. Their hobbies, what they eat, how they interact with each other etc. It was absolutely beautiful and personal in all the right ways. ِ
Experiencing Nasir’s work a couple of years ago, for the first time was a real treat. Feelings ranged from whoa surrealism whoa to this feels pleasantly light, I need more. I think to some extent, most of my work is heavily inspired by him. He’s a beautiful human & we need more beautiful humans who share their pieces/parts of them in this planet.
Abjad Hawaz Fanan is a gorgeous zine, made out of recycled/craft paper. I recommend this to anyone trying to create more often but feels stuck or unmotivated. Even though this zine targets a very young age group, I think it would make the perfect gift to anyone who wants to explore their creative side. Definitely treat yo self & someone else to this recycled bundle of joy.

I’ve recently recieved a package from the lovely Basma and it had all sorts of beautiful cozy things. Noura gave me her extra copy of her collaboration with Basma for jaffat el aqlam’s plants issue. You can read the entire zine via Basma’s website.
Everything is so neat, the colors are uplifting and it’s really difficult not to smile while going through the pages of her zines/comics.

I still don’t know how I feel about this, but all I can think about is ‘who do I contact to get my hands on their recreated foreign/indie/cult films collection.’
I definitely thought this was going to be something along the lines of ‘The Fault in Our Stars’, and it sorta was, but not really? I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, and liked how the plot moved relatively quicker than most plots.

Madness. Bloody madness.
This podcast is so special because it feels so human. Starlee Kine asks people/friends if they have a particular mystery in their lives that they could never solve. The mystery must be something that can’t be solved by going through the internet. Then she basically goes out investigating, finding clues, interviewing people etc and forming this heartwarming interacions with strangers.
Episodes 2 & 3 got me really emotional but I don’t want to say why, because you’re going to have to listen to this gem.
First season is complete and according to Kine it comes back in July!

"The most wtf, nsfw movie"
An interesting take on reincarnation that takes both science and religion/spirituality into consideration.
One of the main reasons I needed to read this book was the fact that I followed chad on twitter/tumblr for quite some time after researching e-chaps & (micro) zines. His work definitely stood out and provided me with a fresh perspective on my creative process. I then came across his podcast ‘dream guides’ which repeatedly blew me away. I’ve listened to this particular dream guide at least 5 times before going to sleep.
This book is the warmest hug I can ask for. It’s very special because it was when I was aware of my sadSMILE “woah, what is my face doing what is this feeling. nice!” kind of thing going on.
Heartwarming & cozy.
